Untitled

I was having coffee and reading a book while listening to music when i thought of you, I smiled.

The rain started to pour outside, I wanted to hold you but you were sleeping.
I settled in the corner of the bed and watched you smile.

You opened your eyes and I felt sorry for disturbing you,
then you reached for me and I lay next to you,
and you shared with me your funny dream and we were both laughing.

And the rain was pouring outside,
and the music was playing
and my coffee was getting cold
and the book I was reading lay on the table enjoying the gentle caress of the breeze coming from the open window.

"that was then, this is now"

"I don 't know what it is...
...about going to high school with someone...
... that makes you feel you're automatically friends for life.
Who says?
Who says friendship lasts forever?
We'd all like to, maybe...
...but maybe it just wears out like everything else.
Like tires.
There's just so much mileage in them and then you're on nothing but air. "
- Det. Lt. Nicholas 'Nick' Frescia - (Tequila Sunrise, 1988)

High School is the golden age of discovery for most of us, it becomes the bond that would keep us together unconditionally. Friendships are forged from this bond, baptized by the fire of solidarity, tested by experience and time spent with each other. The laughter and tears reinforces its strength.

But life is meant to be lived, and living means growing up, and when you grow up you tend to outgrow things, like your favorite shirt or jeans or shoes, even friends. When you outgrow something it doesn't have to mean that you'll give them away or throw them out. You need to hold on to special things, you'll find comfort knowing they're still there even though you don't see them that much but they would always be there when you need them. They are a big part of who you are, of what you've become.

I remember when we used to spend most of our waking hours together, back then we can't get enough of each other's company, sharing our adventures and misses, our hopes and dreams, back when life was simple. And then we grew up and soon we were communicating thru mails and then the time came when we were too busy to do that, good thing that technology keeps on making it easy for us to reach out with e-mails, chats and wireless connectivity, but deadlines and meetings and bills were taking over our small circle, adult problems everywhere. And now were finally on a stage where we need to set up appointments and schedules just to have coffee together or hang out and reminisce.

I feel sad to know that we grew up and apart... And the mileage has finally taken it's toll...
Life happens when your not looking, the only thing constant is change.

To Whom It May Concern,

I have been a friendster since June of 2004, I find it entertaining and a great way to hook up with old friends or find a new acquaintance every now and then. That being said I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team behind the scenes at friendster.com for doing an excellent job, for allowing us the freedom to express our individuality through friendster profile's customizable features. With these custom features we are inspired and given the ability to share our ideas and creativity for designing web pages. Recently I've noticed a growing number of friendsters who misuses this feature, "unintentionally" (I hope...). Their disregard for theme, harmony and color coordination simply cannot be overlooked. They fill their pages with blinking or scrolling backgrounds and if thats not enough they combine these effects to their hearts content.

One of my favorite feature in customizing profiles is the ability to share your favorite videos, movies and funny commercial ad clips, some friendsters feel the need to have more than one media player, I'm sorry but this really escapes my understanding.

I'm an advocate for the freedom to express yourself, a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I did not write this letter to show my superiority to those with limited resources or experience to come up with an original and balanced design. I'm not trying to preach, I am only trying to exercise my right to have a personal opinion. I need to share my disappointment to those who are willing to listen, imagine that you're trying to browse the contents of a particular friendster profile that catches your interest but instead of devouring information you end up getting dizzy and nauseated by unnecessary and overwhelming add-ons. If you're reading this and somehow find it even remotely offensive please forgive me, but if by a twist of fate this letter inspires you to do better then I will be grateful and will be looking forward to visit your pages again.

Friendster is one of those unique places on the web where people are enabled to have a wider reach by extending their network of friends, it allows us to keep in touch with friends from our past no matter the distance, it helps us discover new things about different cultures. And if you feel that you're not responsible for your actions when you alienate people from knowing more about you then why did you even bother signing up for an account?

You can either ignore this or learn from it, after all, this is just one of my personal issues...

PEACE!!!

On his views of changing the present form of government (Philippines)...
In English

With regards kung sino ang papalit...

Nakita mo naman ang naging epekto ng pagpapalit ng personalidad. Pinalitan mo lang ang "driver" pero bulok pa rin ang jeep. Ang malala ay wreckless din ang ipinalit na driver. It's the system of society (not just the system of governance) that has to be overhauled. We have a very corrupt society precisely because it serves the needs of the few elite and not those who are impoverished, those who truly need to be served. Kailangan natin ng leadership that will genuinely cater to the needs of the majority. And this cannot come from the elite who has never had any experience whatsoever in being poor. At hindi naman kailangang isang tao lang, pwedeng isang grupo ng tao that will basically come from the grassroots. Tapusin na natin ang paghahari ng mga mapangkurakot na mayayaman. Ilagay na natin ang kapangyarihan sa nakararaming mamamayan na mas nakakaalam ng tunay niyang mga pangangailangan sa lipunan.

Our stand once again is "resign all" and then form a transitional revolutionary government that shall be composed, not of "trapos" posting as saviours, but of the very basic members of the majority of society, the masses particularly led by the working class, who know the real problems based on their own experience and would be most effective in resolving problems which they themselves are familiar with being the ones experiencing it. Remember, if we will just succumb to the clamour of the elite opposition for Gloria alone to resign, then, after all is said and done, we'll just be in the same rut as we were before.

"RESIGN ALL" pa rin Kumpare!!!!!!!

English Translation (by RodMan)

With regards to who would replace (the current administration...)

As you have witnessed the effect of changing the personalities (in government). You may have replaced the "driver" but the car is still junk. And the worst thing is the new driver is also wreckless. It's the system of society (not just the system of governance) that has to be overhauled. We have a very corrupt society precisely because it serves the needs of the few elite and not those who are impoverished, those who truly need to be served. We need the leadership that will genuinely cater to the needs of the majority. And this cannot come from the elite who has never had any experience whatsoever in being poor. And it doesn't have to be just one person, it could be a group of people that will basically come from the grassroots. Let us put an end to the rule of the corrupt elite. Let us finally put the power in the hands of the majority who knows their own needs in our society.

Our stand once again is "resign all" and then form a transitional revolutionary government that shall be composed, not of "trapos" (traditional politicians) posting as saviours, but of the very basic members of the majority of society, the masses particularly led by the working class, who know the real problems based on their own experience and would be most effective in resolving problems which they themselves are familiar with being the ones experiencing it. Remember, if we will just succumb to the clamour of the elite opposition for Gloria alone to resign, then, after all is said and done, we'll just be in the same rut as we were before.
